Chapter 1 A Crises: Our Health is on Fire

Sam was not truly improving his health.  Rather, the medications were simply bandaids that provided a temporary fix to an underlying health problem that was not really being addressed.

Diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cholesterol, depression, anxiety, Alzheimer’s, attention deficit disorder, insomnia, colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, gout (and many more).

Healthcare workers ought to be aiming to extinguish the chronic diseases we fight. Instead, chronic disease is only expanding. It is akin to firefighters who instead of extinguishing a large forest fire, are only managing to slowly retreat backward in their fight.
